First Football Game

Today we went to the home opening football game for the school district at which I am employed. They always have a home opener cookout and since grandpa Mueller just so happens to be the high school principal ( I work at the middle school) we just had to go! I picked our little guy up from daycare and took him over to the cookout.... I was the typical "new mom"!!! Everyone wanted to hold him and love him and usually I would have been okay with that but my little guys nose was running and he was coughing and sneezing so I was a little on edge and a bit reluctant to pass him around.

My husband joined us so that he could be apart of our son's first experience at a football game. We stayed until our team scored the first run, which was about three minutes into the game. And even though we didn't stay for the whole game and my son's nose was running the whole time, we enjoyed ourselves for the time that we were there. Our son loves seeing new things and definitely loves hanging out with dad in the jeep carrier! And he always loves seeing grandpa Mueller!

Me, our little guy, and grandpa Mueller.

Me, hubby, and our cutie pie!

Unofficial Fat Ticker Friday

YaY!! YaY!!! YaY!!! I am down two more pounds this week. I ran pretty much every day this week and now I am so tired!!! I have been so busy this week getting up early to get everyone ready for the work day, dropping and picking up my baby from day care, holding open house for my student's parents, trying to make some dinners while also trying to fit in time to spend with the hubby and my little guy. Alls I have to say is TGIF!!! We have a long weekend which will be nice because my house is in shambles!!! I feel like I need a vacation already and the school year has just begun!

Baby Update!!!

Our son is 17 weeks old today!!! His personality is definitely developing. He knows what he wants and when he wants it!!! He is holding his head up very well now and can be held side saddle like (because he makes it very clear that we wants to see everything and doesn't want to miss a thing). My most favorite thing that he does now is the nuzzling. When he gets tired or just wants to be loved he rubs his head into my neck or chest like he is hugging me... it's the best thing ever. He is also talking much more and letting out squeals here and there. He loves sitting outside on the front porch with me so that he can feel the breeze (he gets really happy when the wind is blowing on a windy day!!!). And then there's Baby Einstein. Baby Einstein is great but now whenever the T.V. is on his eye's are glued to whatever is on... he even laughs at the news. Not only is he my husband's mini me... he just might be the mini coach potato too! Not that my husband doesn't work hard because he does, but he definitely loves him some T.V. when he is finally done working. When he is eating I have to turn the T.V's off that is how bad it is getting. Actually, I just turn off the T.V's when we are spending time together because if I didn't he wouldn't even know that I am in the room! But I do know that he loves us and that's all that matters!!! We go for his four month check up on September 3rd. I will let you know how is goes!

Here is a picture of my son nuzzling me!!! I just love it!

By the way if you happened to read my meme.... I have a correction, my witness protection name would be Marie John... I must have been tired when I made that post!

Taking it off together Tuesday

When I reported my loss to Leigh yesterday I had not gotten the chance to weigh myself... I am actually down another pound!!! YAY! So technically, our group has only gain a total of 1.3 pounds for the week. I know we will all keep working hard and eventually these last two weeks of group gains will become losses! Keep working!!! Good luck!

Thursday Thirteen Eighth Edition

Thirteen Things about Danielle

We are adjusting well to the whole daycare thing! Our little guy went from crying and looking at me like mommy please don't leave to okay you can leave now in one day. He seems to really enjoy being around the other kids, which I am grateful for! I however, wake up much much much earlier for work these days. I used to hit the snooze button a million times but I no longer have that option. I have been trying to get up by 5:15a.m. in order to get dressed, change and feed my boy, and maybe even have a cup of coffee before walking out the door by 6:30a.m.. So far so good, but in order to continue having happy smooth mornings there are many things I need to prepare ahead of time.

Here are thirteen things I need to do this weekend in preparation for the work week.

1. Restock our boys diaper bag with extra clothes and bibs (he goes through a million bibs, thank god I almost got a million from my showers)!

2. Packet my workout bag for Monday.

3. Iron my clothes for the week. About two years ago I started reading and ironing... that's when I new I was all grown up!!!

4. Go to the grocery store to buy lunch meat, fruits, and veggies for my lunches.

5. Reorganize car. Not only has having a baby taken up my house, all of his things have taken up most of the space in my car as well. And NO!!! I will not get a mini van, let me repeat that one I WILL NOT GET A MINI VAN!!!

6. Go through the traveling diaper bag to make sure I have everything I need for the baby in case we make a stop on the way home from work.

7. Do the laundry so that we all have fresh clean clothes (I hate this job the most)!

8. Vacuum my house (obviously this one has nothing to do with getting ready for the week but after working all week Christie's son could come sit on my floor and he would feel like he is at a buffet... you can take a look here to see what I am talking about).

9. Clean bathrooms.

10. Clean bathroom and kitchen floor.

11. Vacuum pool (well over due).

12. Box up the baby clothes that last a whole month.

13. And last but most importantly, spend the weekend enjoying my son because the work week will be here before we know it and back off to daycare he goes.

Taking it off together Tuesday

I lost one pound this week for Taking it off together Tuesday! Hopefully, I will be able to keep up my workouts now that I'm working again. After today, I already know that there will be days that I will choose to not work out so that I can spend more time with my son. Today was his first full day at daycare. And his first full day with all of the other kids. He did okay, except for the fact that loud noises scare him and well with five other kids running around you can say it was loud and he didn't like it. On a good note, he did take to two of the other kids that attend daycare with him. Apparently, they sang Twinkle, Twinkle, Little Star to him when he looked like he might get sad and it made him happy (thank you little ones!!!). I was okay while I was at work, but then when I picked him up I thought my poor little baby and HOW am I going to do this everyday???... I missed him so much and I know that he missed me.

Mystery Solved (and the ending of our day!)

My husband planted some bushes in our back yard about three years ago. When he's back their cutting the grass he always scopes them to see if they have flourished. The funny thing is, when he was cutting the grass today he thought to himself WOW these bushes have really grown in the last couple years. But then we saw what was really going on back there. Apparently, the bushes could be much bigger than they are but the family of deer that visits our yard nightly have been snacking

SEE

So we have come to the conclusion that all along we have just been feeding the deer.

Now onto the deep fried veggies that I promised to tell you about. I made beer batter with Commodore Perry (a great lake brew) you can read more about the beer here, it was great on the veggies but I personally did not enjoy the beer as a beverage for my drinking pleasure. We fried zucchini, broccoli, carrots, and onions with it, talk about delicious!!! I'm sure I will be paying for it tomorrow when my feet feel like their stuck in cement on my morning run with the dogs.

And then there was quality time with my son. He is the best and cutest baby ever and if I don't say so myself, I'm not looking to bad either!!!

We had an awesome day!

Mini Me

Today all three of us did the grocery shopping, it was definitely a nice change!!! We decided to stop at a little farmers market to get some fresh veggies (only to coat them with beer batter and fry them later, I'll let you know how they taste later YUM!!). We also thought it would be a good idea to bust out the Jeep baby carrier. I have to admit I was a little jealous that my husband wanted to sport the carrier with our cutie pie. They looked so cute walking around the market. Our son was just happy to have his hands in his mouth, it's tough to get a picture these days because of those hands. He thinks they are the best thing ever invented right now, so we'll go with it!

Here are my cutie pies!!!

And yes, our son is my husband's mini me. OMG!!! I'm in so much trouble!

After we stopped at the market, we made our way to BJ's wholesale club, Giant Eagle, and PetSmart. We had to stock up on everything while we had the time because like I've said now a million times, I go back to work next week (YUCK!!!). Needless to say, once I am back to work the weekly grocery shopping during the day will no longer be an option.

This is the first Saturday since our son has been born that we went shopping together as a family. We enjoyed our time together and plan on spending the rest of the day just hanging out!

Hot for the Holidays!!!

Hot for the Holidays

I am so excited for the Hot for the Holidays group weight loss challenge that Christie is organizing. Stop by her site to check out how to join in on the fun. She always does a really nice job getting sponsor's for prizes and helping people to get motivated to shed the pounds! We recently finished up the Summer of Me weight loss challenge and lost a combined total of 85 pounds (I think?), you can read more about that here. As Christie said in her post, who doesn't want to be the hot wife at the holiday Christmas party? I DO!!! I DO!!! So go on over and sign up!!!

Fat Ticker Friday

I am proud to report that I lost one more pound this week. I gained 60 pounds during my pregnancy and currently, I have lost 58 of those 60 pounds!!! Yeah! However, why didn't anyone other than grandma Mueller tell me that my clothes were definitely going to fit differently. Two more pounds and I will weigh what I weighed at my 9 week appointment, so technically I probably need to lose at least 10 more to get to my real pre-pregnancy weight. Believe me, I am not complaining at all I just wish I could fit into my work clothes since work starts next week. There's still work to be done and I will get there!!!

Here is what I did this week:

Monday: 2.5 mile run with dogs and one set of stairs at the park.

Tuesday: 30 minutes on the elliptical, sit ups (not there yet ouch!).

Wednesday: 3.5 mile walk with son.

Thursday: 2.5 mile run with dogs and one set of stairs at the park.

Friday: 4 mile walk with son!!!

Surprise Visit

Today we decided to surprise Grandma Dresp at work. We think she was really excited because she walked us around the school and introduced us to half the staff saying, "this is my daughter and my grandson!!". We gave her the three months pictures we had taken a few weeks ago and we know she just loved those. Then we went to Red Lobster for lunch. We had a nice time and were glad that we used our last day of vacation to surprise grandma, the summer flew bye!!!

Thursday Thirteen 7th Edition (Better late than never!!)

Thirteen Things about Danielle

Having added a new addition to our family, it seems like the little storage space we had in our home is even smaller and tighter. So, I have decided that I want to have a garage sale. I just have to get motivated enough to actually go through our house room by room and collect the items I would like to sell. I am one of those people that hates clutter but yet my husband calls me a pack rat?? And maybe I am but I sure do know how to hide all of my stuff and that's the problem.... I ran out of hiding spaces/places. IT'S TIME TO CLEAN HOUSE (can you believe I actually went on the Internet to apply for that show?? Sadly, they are only based in the California area. Isn't that discrimination or something?)Here are thirteen items I have for my garage sale list!!!
1. Old coats. I have had some of these coats since high school. I think it is time to part with them!

2. Old shoes. Playing college basketball we got a lot of freebies... I probably have at least two pair of brand new high tops that I have never worn. They have to sell right?

3. Old knife set. We have two knife sets (and they are both old, we definitely need to get ride of one of them).

4. Vases. I know what your thinking... A woman can never have to many vases but when they take up a hole cabinet in the kitchen that can be used for baby items they have to go.

5. Old dish sets. I don't know if we really need to get rid of these but they are just sitting in a box in the basement, so bye bye old dish set.

6. Rollerblades. Okay these aren't in the best shape and I haven't use them in quit some time but a girl can try to sell them for something, even if its two dollars.

7. Tea towels. I am in desperate need of new towels.

8. Books. I never enjoyed reading but then all of a sudden around 28ish I started to read. Then I started buying books and now they just sit in a closet because I do not have a bookshelf or the room for a bookshelf to put them on. They must go! I need to start going to the library!!!

9. Carpet pieces. I couldn't tell you how many huge carpet pieces we have shoved in a closet, and laying across the garage beams and barn beams. We haven't used them and I don't think we are ever going to use them. What kid going to college wouldn't want a large piece of carpet to put in their dorm room?

10. Utensils. I need new utensils so bad... its not that mine are in poor condition its just that none of them match.. I hate that!

11. Duffel bags. Oh my holey duffel bags. I have so many duffel bags I don't know what to do with them. Its not like we are going to be traveling to far off places (I wish) any time soon. At least half of them are going in the sale!

12. Comforter sets. I have a thing about buying new comforters for my bed. I guess you can say I like to change the look up on the old bedroom now and again. I have plenty to spare and they are in good condition. And that means I get to buy new ones. YAY!!!

13. Shot glasses. I have way to many shoot glasses. Yes, I used to use them but these days they just take up a hole cabinet in the kitchen. I think it is safe to say that my husband and I won't be having to many crazy parties anymore with the new bambino in the house. Bye Bye Old Times!!!

A MEME!!! I Finally figured out how to do these!!!

Okay, I finally figured out how to do one of these Meme things with the help of my sister-in-law (thanks Janeen). I would like to apologize to all the people (I don't have many blogger friends yet so all the people would be Janeen) for not participating in their Memes in the past. However, now that I feel really smart I promise to join in on the fun of future Memes that are sent my way. I would like to thank Leigh for tagging me with this Meme. Thanks, Danielle

Here are the rules:
Link to the person who tagged you.
Mention the rules.
Tell six quirky, yet boring, unspectacular details about yourself.
Tag six other bloggers by linking to them.
Go to each person’s blog and leave a comment that lets them know they’ve been tagged.
If you participate, let the person who tagged you know you’ve posted your quirks!

1. I love the smell of skunk (yep, if you catch any you can send them my way).

2. Like Leigh, I am one of those people who does not like when their food touches.

3. I own my very own dirt bike (although, I have not rode it this summer).

4. I am a zit popper... I know yuck but I can't help it... even if it's not mine it must be popped!!!

5. I can not get into an unmade bed when I go to sleep... if the bed is not made I MAKE IT and then sleep peacefully.

6. I usually do not like my gas tank any less than half full... it drives me nuts when people drive around with a quarter tank of gas!

Okay, who to tag? I think I only know five people?? Hope that's okay!!!

Daycare has begun

I took my precious little angel to daycare for the first time today. The lady who is watching him for us said that we was great. The only time he cried was when he woke up from his nap. She said he had this look on his face like where the heck am I and where the heck is my mommy? I'm right here baby. Sorry you have to go to daycare. We hope that you will adjust well and will enjoy being around other children when you are not with us. Just now that daddy and I love you so very much and we are already so proud of you!
When I went to pick him up his face just lit up and I felt so proud and happy (like the melt your heart kind of happy)that he already loves us so much too!!! He has changed our lives in so many ways (unexpected good, awesome, unbelievable ways), I wouldn't change it for the world!!!

Taking it off together Tuesday

We are all in one piece!

This past Saturday my husband and I went to the CASINO! Our little angel slept over grandma and grandpa Mueller's. They said that he was a joy to have (except for his usual fussy time before bed and even that was good because they love him) , there were no problems, and that he is just a really good baby, Oh and they love him ( I think I already said that but that's okay because they love him a lot)!!! And we love him a lot, that is why I couldn't sleep once we made our way back to the hotel after and evening of gambling. We definitely had fun (translation- WE WON!!!) and yes it was nice to get away and have some fun but I was up and ready to drive home by 7:00a.m. after going to bed at 2:00a.m.. I think my husband thought I was crazy but he didn't complain when I finally woke him up at 7:30a.m.. We eat the complimentary breakfast and were on our way home by 8:30a.m.. It's not that I didn't want to sleep in, because part of me really wanted to, but knowing that work starts in a week and I only have a few days left with my baby I just wanted to be home early so that we could still have a whole day with him. And we did!!! And we won!!! And we had our night away!!! And he had a great time at grandma and grandpa's!!! And we are all in one piece!!!

Back to the nitty gritty!!! (Fat Ticker Friday)

Last week, I tried the whole walking thing after conversations with my husband and my dad on how running breaks down a woman's body. And I did not lose any weight... so this week I went back to the running. I guess you can say it is just natural for me! And I lost two pounds!!! Once I go back to work, I will be able to work out in the fitness center where I will have more options than just running. I am thinking about getting on the elliptical, its less stress on the body and well after having a baby lets just say I can't really afford to lose any more elasticity or should I say the little elasticity I have left.
ChristieO at http://babytealeaves.blogspot.com has fat ticker Friday's back into effect! At least now I will be held accountable for the workouts I do and don't do and the foods I should eat and shouldn't eat. Thanks Christie!!!
Yesterday, I also stumbled upon another site that will help motivate me to stay on track. Leigh at http://leigh@eternal-flux.com holds a weigh in on Monday's. Her challenge/motivational weigh in is called Taking it off together Tuesday's, stop by and check out her site. As far as I know, there is no start and end date. Anyone can join just go to her site and let her know you would like to participate and she will send you the rules!

Daddy Son Moment

My husband started a new job two weeks before we had our baby. He has been putting in 10, 11, and 12 hour days since starting the job (because of the long hours, he got a promotion yesterday YAY!!!). By time he gets home from work our little guy is either getting ready for bed or already asleep. So needless to say, he doesn't get to many daddy son moments. I have been waiting to get a picture of them together just hanging out and loving each other and last night it finally happened. Dad got home from work and actually got to talk and play with his son before he went to bed. Aren't they just so cute?

Thursday Thirteen

Thirteen Things about Danielle

I have many things to do and organize before I go back to work. I can't believe my summer with my baby is over. Beginning next week he will be in the care of someone else for three days and after that five days a week for the rest of the school year. I am going to miss him so much. I have two days with him next week all to myself and believe me when I say I am going to take full advantage of them. We might just hibernate in the house those two days and play so that I do not have to share him with anyone else.

Here are thirteen things I need to do to prepare, gather, and organize for my son's transition to daycare. SO SAD!

1. Pack extra diaper bag with extra clothes.

2. Make sure my extra med kit has everything he will need in the event that he gets sick or the sitter needs to take his temperature etc...

3. Buy extra bottles to keep at the daycare.

4. Buy bulk diapers and wipes to keep at the daycare.

5. Buy formula and soon solids (we go for his four month check up on September 3rd and that's when the doctor will tell me what kinds of solids I can start him on OMG... he is getting so big!)

6. Make a list of contact emergency numbers ( I think I have this one done, just need to print it out).

7. Provide daycare a schedule of when he will be going to grandma Alberts (she will be watching him one day a week except for the days she goes on vacation to her cabin).

8. Make sure that all the grandparents have the daycare address and phone number... just in case.

9. Pack extra bottle brush, spoons, cups, and toys.

10. Make a list of my baby's typical day (habits, nap times etc..) so that hopefully the daycare will keep him on the same schedule.

11. Spend every free day I have left loving my son.

12. Hug and kiss him a thousand times.

13. Lots and lots and lots of cuddling before the dreaded day of daycare arrives!!!!

Golf Outing

Today I went to my school district's annual golf outing. I left my house at 11:30a.m. and got home around 8:15p.m., so that means dad (thank you honey, I LOVE YOU) was in charge of our little man for the whole day. He must have done a great job because when I got home our baby was sleeping peacefully. I missed both of them today but I also had a great time golfing. Like I said yesterday, I am no golfer but I definitely had fun. For me, it was like a family golfing out because my uncle Louie (who picked me up... thank you so much), my Uncle Paul, his father-in-law Mr. Fox, my dad, and my older brother Bob were in attendance with me.

Here is a picture from left to right in the same order that I listed above!

I did not win the longest drive or the longest put for the women but I did win a 25 dollar gift certificate to TJ's on the Avenue ( a great Italian restaurant), and a 75 dollar gift certificate to Steven Mathew ( a beauty saloon where I can get a hair cut, highlights, pedicure, manicure etc... what girl won't like that?). So, YAY ME!!! I am already looking forward to next year's outing... maybe next year we will get a babysitter so my husband can join in on the fun!

More Fun!!!

Okay so I just posted about my family party.... the party ended early (5pm) so my husband caught up with one of his friends at a local bar just down the street from our house. While him and Evans (my husband's friend) were hanging out they decided that it would be a good idea for the Evans family to come over and go swimming. They brought their son who will be a year old in September and their daughter who, I think is 9 years old. The Evans had planned to go to dinner but we told them, "NO do not go to dinner we have so much food left over from the family party." At first they declined but then called back and said, "Okay, burgers sound good." So, I guess you can say we had two parties in one day!!!! Everyone had a blast swimming in the pool but I especially enjoyed the two games of HORSE we played!!! I won the first one but since I taught my husband how to shoot some hoops he won the second game... Sorry Evans, you didn't win any of the games!!! But it was nice having you all over.

It's finally time for bed... did I tell you that I have a golf outing tomorrow?? I will let you all know how it goes. I am no golfer but I will try my best!

I Finally Had A Family Party!!!

Today my family came over for a cookout. We had burgers, brats, potato salad, pasta salad, devil eggs, pizza, dirt beans, and the list goes on.... We had way to much food but I am okay with that because we have dinner for the next two days at least! Everyone was so happy to see the baby. Our little guy finally got to meet his great Aunt Denise (who did a wonderful job watching and playing with him, as did grandma Mueller), and of course he has already met the rest of the family that came over today who included grandpa and grandma Mueller, Uncle Bob and his girlfriend Alli, great grandma and grandpa Schilling, and my Uncle Louie!!! It was so nice to have all of you over. I hope you had a nice time!!!

Aunt Denise, Grandma Mueller, and the guest of honor himself!!!

They Have Arrived

I am a little late at making this post!!! I received the 3 month old JCPenny portraits of our son on Monday or Tuesday... I can't even remember, I have been busy these days tackling the Thursday thirteen list of things I need to do around my house. Any how... back to the pictures, every time I look at them they just melt my heart. At first, I didn't really like the picture that shows that he cried during the pictures but it is just to adorable!!! Here are a few of my favorites.... but I think they are all my favorite!!!
