Easter

Easter is always a special holiday around here and it usually starts with Mema and Papa Alberts annual Easter egg hunt for their grandchildren. However, this year we had more to celebrate and that was the arrival of our baby girl Andi Jo. She did not get a basket from the Easter bunny this year like her big brother nor did she get to participate in the hunting of eggs but she will next year for sure! This year she got to be our very own cute little bunny while big brother Eddie found his basket and hunted for eggs!

This Easter was priceless. Eddie enjoyed his Easter immensely and told us by saying, "man this easter bunny is good!" and " I think this Easter bunny loves me!" all the while I kept thinking to myself and periodically saying out loud, of course the Easter bunny loves you. This Easter bunny will love both of you forever and ever!

Our children- Welcome Baby Girl Andi Jo

On 4-2-2012 our baby girl Andi Jo Alberts joined our family at 10:10a.m. She weighed 8lbs. 2oz. and was 20 1/2 inches long. We are so very blessed to have her in our lives and are very excited to now be a family of four. She is already so loved and cared for and will continue to be. Her older brother ,Eddie, has cuddled, kissed, hugged, and squeezed her as he has welcomed her to our home with open arms. Ed and I could not be more proud to be the parents of two beautiful, kind and loving children. We love you Eddie and Andi. And we will always love you!

Here she is shortly after coming into our world:

Andi stayed with us since the minute she was born in the operating room. Big brothers first visit, he loved her the minute he saw her.
The kiss that will seal their bond for a life time.

Finally home and snuggling.
Eddie's very own kissy doll!

Dear Andi

I have carried you know for over 38 weeks and in just 8 days we (daddy, Eddie, and I) will finally get to meet you. Daddy and I have loved you since the minute we found out you would be coming into this world. And your big brother Eddie has been so excited to meet you. He too has loved you since he found out he was going to be a big brother. He has kissed mommy's belly and told you he loves you a hundred times and will continue to tell you once you are born! As will your daddy and I! We will take care of you, love you, and give you what we can. We will try our best to teach you right from wrong and will guide you to make right decisions as you grow older. We love you so much and can't wait to meet you! Here are a few pictures of you in mommy's belly.

Here you are at about 20 weeks old. This is the day we found out you were a girl and decided Andi Jo would be your name.

Here you are at 24 weeks. Mommy had to go in for a follow up ultrasound because the doctors did not see your stomach fill up the way they wanted at 20 weeks. Everything checked out just fine.

Here you are in mommy's belly on New Year's Day 2012.

And here is picture of you and I and your big brother the day my coworkers through a baby shower for us. You and I were about 34 weeks. And here we are at 35 weeks. My students at school surprised us with another shower! The next time I post pictures of you, you will be in my arms, your daddy's arms, or your brother's arms and we will be kissing and loving on you!

Monster Jam 2012

Yes. The two men in my life, my husband and son ventured out to the Monster Jam on Saturday for the second year in a row. And although none of the really famous monster trucks (except Grave Digger) were there, a good time was still had. Here are a few pics. Make sure to take a real good luck at the one if my cutie patutie son!!!

The Aquarium

President's Day was extra special this year because daddy took a vacation day to hang out with Eddie and I. We decided to check out the new aquarium that opened up downtown and although we had to wait in line for 50 minutes, we still had a terrific time. Eddie just loved looking at all the marine life. His favorite were the alligators by far but that is probably because he has been watching the "Gator Boys" with daddy on t.v.!

Here's a few pictures of my two guys enjoying their day together at the aquarium:

Pizza Party

Friday evening I had a pizza party at our house for Eddie. I decided that it would be a good idea to have some of Eddie's friends over since his little sister will be arriving soon. The boys that came over are friends from day care and they have pretty much known each other since the age of one. They had an absolute blast together and I was happy that my little man was happy and enjoyed his time with his friends.

Sledding Part II

This past weekend we actually got hit again with enough snow to go sledding. So, off the little man and hubby went. I decided to stay home this time to cook and clean. I got the cooking done and that was about it. While I was cooking, I got a text from my hubby saying that Eddie's friends from daycare showed up. All the boys had a great time and Eddie even went down the hill on his new tube all by himself!
Here is my little man cruising his tube:

Winter Zoo Trip

Our winter has been so mild that we decided to go to the zoo yesterday. It was a perfect day. All the animals were out and we were one of few families there. We walked the whole park and although I am paying for it today, it was worth it because we had a great day together. Our days of just the three of us are numbered so we have to enjoy each other when we can!

Sled Riding- Brave Boy

Today marked our first sled ride of the new year! Yep! We actually got enough snow over the weekend to have some fun in the snow. And my boys did just that! I ,of course, went along to take pictures but deep down inside was wishing I could go down the hill too!

My boys making their way to the hill.
The first two times down the hill were a little shaky so the little man decided to go check out the river with daddy.

Third time down the hill was a charm.

And the fourth.

And after the little man got wet snow in his face and shed a couple of tears, he got brave and decided to go down the hill by himself.

From then on his bravery turned into fun because he went down the hill by himself many many times (we created a sled riding monster)! We were so proud of him.
